Fun fact: Runners do not have
to be members of the Beach
Club (pictured) to be members of
the running club. More than half of
our runners are not.
Fun fact: In the summer,
CBRC women outnumber
the men. In the winter, it's
the opposite. Here we are
enjoying cool, post-run
beverages at Stella's
rooftop after a Thursday
evening run. Carbo-loading,
you might say.
Fun fact: When nine runners live on a diagonal in
Uptown, the rules say they must play host to a
progressive party at least twice a year.
The schedule for CBRC is set up to ensure a
coach is present for the club that meets that
day. When the weather gets warmer, we'll
meet a little earlier on Saturday mornings.
We meet on the hour, give announcements
at 10 minutes after the hour, and get out the
door as close as we can to 15 minutes past.
Schedule
Fun fact: In 2004 just four runners ran Grandma's
Marathon and another ten TCM. By 2006 we had 40
runners run TCM, 10 more did the 10-mile, and 40+
more ran another marathon/race or just ran with us for
fun. Now we've grown to over 100 strong!
The running club meets in Calhoun Beach Club, but you do not have to be a member of
the CBC to join the running group. Many runners do become members, but those who
don't still enjoy these amenities on run days:
 | | A warm, dry place to meet and stretch before hitting the lakes.
|
 | | Access to locker rooms and showers.
|
 | | Access to the Solarium restaurant and bar when accompanied |
| | by a CBC member.

CBRC Running Groups
Everyone joining the CBRC joins the Run Club, and those that want to train with coaches during
the various training sessions will join the Training Group. We define the Training Group as
those runners who elect to receive a schedule or otherwise choose to run with the Training
Group runners. Each year there are guaranteed to be at least two training sessions based
around Grandma's and the Twin Cities Marathons, and in 2009 we also train for Boston and
various other races. The Training Group right now is divided by speed into three sub-groups:
Greens, Blues, and Golds.
