The Group
The Greens consists of top-notch runners (and people!) who are fully expecting to run  
marathons in less than 3:30 and half marathons in less than 1:40.  Women comprise a
larger share of this group than may be expected.  An easy run will range between 7:00
and 8:00 minutes per mile.  The Greens are led by former Washington U. cross-country
runner Paul Donnelly.

Note on the pace:  Running with a group will almost always increase your pace over
running by yourself.  A 30 second difference is not uncommon.


The Workouts
Coaches Kevin Haas and Paul Donnelly have designed a marathon program to optimize
club members' talents and give them the greatest chance to run to the best of their
abilities on race day.  This general program is designed for runners who want to improve
their speed and endurance.  Toward this end, CBRC implements the weightlifting and
strength program of
Discover Strength.  The Greens will run longer than the program
calls for and perhaps run extra repeats of hills or speed distances.  Please note that all
runners have the option to do less than the group workout on any given day.
