There is no doubt our runners love their running club.  Here's why:

1.  We have a great young core along with our more experienced runners.
Generally, half of our runners are in their twenties or early thirties.

2.  Our percentage of female runners is outstanding and usually well over
50% in the summertime.
We understand that women like to run with other
women, and so we try to accommodate!

3.  We have scheduled, coached runs and workouts four days a week!
Most clubs meet two, maybe three days a week.  Have you ever planned to
run with people one day and then find you can't make it?  We all have.  At
CBRC, though, instead of running by yourself the next day, you can miss a
day and still have the club to run with the next.  If you are training for a
marathon, this is especially important.

4.  If you're new to the Twin Cities, join the club!  Many of our runners are
from out of state and new to Minneapolis.  There is no "Minnesota Ice" at
CBRC.  If you join us, you will make some of the best friends of your lifetime
and make them quickly!

5.  Our runners really, really like to socialize.  There are at least two pub
crawls every year and at least one Uptown progressive party.  No cars
allowed at either!  Further, we're going to Stella's rooftop most Thursday
nights in the summer.

6.  Seriously, can you get a better location?  The Calhoun Beach Club is
located on the Minneapolis lakes and running trails.  Beautiful.  You will regret
it when running with a running club along that same road every time as you
make your way to the same lake so you can simply run around it.  We run
around all the lakes, down the different parkways, along the river, into St.
Paul, and through downtown Minneapolis, including Nicollet Mall where
some runners have been known to stop for a beverage!

7.  We have an indoor, dry, warm/cool place to stretch and talk before and
after runs.
Some clubs meet in parking lots.  When Coach Paul is going
over the day's run, you'll be glad you're there.

8.  Locker room/showers are available.  Besides this just being a nice
amenity, this is often important when you're driving straight from work, or you
live in St. Paul and want to join us at Stella's after the run.

9.  If you're running a marathon but it's not TCM, you will still have a
schedule for your marathon.
Coach Paul has the agility and flexibility to
create a plan for you that allows you to train according to the TCM/Chicago
schedule and add on or back off as needed.

10. If you're training for a marathon and your goal is to complete it, not kill
it, we accommodate.
Coach Paul has a workout plan everyday for first-time
marathoners, which is scaled back from the more intense workout that might
be scheduled.  Whether you actually are running your first marathon or just
want to get miles in to complete another, scaling back often makes for more
enjoyable runs and helps prevent injury.  No matter what your goal is, you can
choose the less intense, more intense, or something of your choosing in
between on any day you run with us.
